Psychologists have given several evidences while studying visual perception, like the image in the mind is not "given" but it is "constructed" by our mind, past experiences and several other subjective aspects, which differ from person-to-person. The human eye never behaves like a "passive camera". Our mind actually takes selective focused data from the entirely exposed image created on the retina.
